The module provides a foundation for exploring enterprise, innovation and sustainability. Key issues covered include: - Enterprise, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. - Sustainable Development Goals and the potential for entrepreneurship and innovation to address them. - Ideas and opportunities, and creative techniques for generating business ideas. - Innovation and invention. Sources/ drivers of innovation, the 10 types of innovation, innovation strategies, and implementing change and overcoming barriers to innovation. - Feasibility analysis, including industry and market feasibility analysis, financial feasibility analysis and entrepreneur feasibility analysis. - Why business models matter. Business Model Canvas in full detail. Lean start-up. Case examples. Through studying the module, students will appreciate the complexities associated with entrepreneurship and be able to discuss and debate these complexities in an informed and critical manner.

Students will have the opportunity to examine current practice in supply chains/networks and organisational operations ( including, but not limited to design, procurement and logistics) and contrast mainstream approaches to these practices with viewpoints which emphasise sustainability best practices in the evaluation and delivery of these functions. The module will help to identify the key drivers that incentivise or mandate the adoption of sustainability best-practices across a range of levels from Government policy to consumer pressure as well as the potential barriers or restraining forces which may impede the adoption of such. Students will have the opportunity to evaluate such practices in an organisational setting (their own, or another with which they are familiar), design and set out rational arguments for appropriate targets for change and set out plans to effectively deliver such change in the organisational setting.

This module is designed to help students develop and demonstrate the skills required to carry out a substantial individual project in a chosen aspect of business and sustainability. Core skills for conducting the individual project are first developed through guided online learning. At the start of the research project students are allocated a supervisor who will work with the student on a one-to-one basis and may also facilitate some small group meetings in addition to one-to-one supervision.

The module provides students with an insight into the ways in which human-environment interactions are governed. Through studying the module students will be able to: - Appreciate the need for sustainability related policy and governance and be able to assess the role and potential limitations associated with various policies. - Gain an understanding of the key factors and stakeholders which can influence the processes and outcomes related to governance. - Draw on their critical knowledge of environmental governance and policy in order to provide an organisation/sector with operational and strategic guidance on environmental governance and policy related issues. Overall - through studying the module, students will gain a critical appreciation of the complexities associated with governance, policy and the environment and will be able to discuss and debate these complexities in an informed and insightful manner.

The objective of this module is to offer insight into, and understanding of, the thinking processes that underlie human judgement and decision making. In particular, it focuses on the predictable judgmental errors and decision biases that commonly arise, and offers strategies for improving these decisions in situations from simple daily activity to complex and strategic decisions.
