Programmes starting between November 2022 and July 2024

The postgraduate masters fees for part-time students at the University of Leeds are fixed at the point of entry and will not rise in subsequent years of the course. This enables students to plan their finances at the outset. The postgraduate fees are reviewed annually. Fees for students who start their course after July 2024 may be higher.

Description

The module provides an initial understanding of core concepts related to leadership and change management. Following on from this students will develop their knowledge, skills and insights through investigating and critically analysing key issues associated with leading and managing sustainability related change. The module enables students to develop professionally through structured self-reflection focusing on their ability to affect change and subsequently identifying areas for ongoing personal development. The module makes significant use of case studies from a variety of organisations and sectors. These cases: a) outline practical examples of leading sustainability related change, b) enable students to compare and critique leadership and change theories to organisational/management practices.

OLUB5302M Sustainability Leadership Research Project

Description

This module is designed to help students develop and demonstrate the skills required to carry out a substantial individual project in a chosen aspect of business and sustainability. Core skills for conducting the individual project are first developed through guided online learning. At the start of the research project students are allocated a supervisor who will work with the student on a one-to-one basis and may also facilitate some small group meetings in addition to one-to-one supervision.

The module provides students with an insight into select economic theories and concepts and their practical application.Students will learn about the relationship (and associated complexities) between economics and sustainability considering this relationship from a variety of perspectives e.g., neoclassical and environmental approaches.The module seeks to progress the students' insights by introducing contemporary and innovative approaches to the subject area, for example steady-state, circular and doughnut economics.
